The Castle Story Rokokumon

This was the third gate of Shuri Castle and was also familiarly called Kagoise Ujo. High officials entitled to ride in a palanquin would customarily dismount here.

The gate is believed to have been built during the 15th century. Like Zuisenmon, it does not feature a stone arch, but rather is a wooden turret gate. Above the castle walls, a one-story structure is placed with a hip-gable roof thatched with wood tiles.
