Okinawa Island is located at the southern tip of Japan, 127 degrees East latitude and 26 degrees North longitude. It's climate is subtropical. With an average temperature of 22 degrees centigrade. Okinawa receives over 2,00 mm of rainfall per year, making it wet and humid. The island chain of Okinawa consists of 160 islands and has a rich eco-system.

Okinawa Island is the largest island of the southwest islands. There is a population of 1,000,000in the capital of Naha. Okinawa island also hosts subtropical forests, and coral reefs.
