| Ryukyu Green snake belongs to Nami
snake family, and total the length is 70cm to 80cm. It is known
by the name of “Oonajaa” and the gentle snake looks ordinary.
The trunk is cylindrical, and is a little thicker, and its tail
is long. The back color of the body has much variation such as grayish
yellow brown, or greenish-brown, or somber yellowish green. It has
two to four indistinct brown vertical patterns. There green snakes
without a spots. It is distributed on Okinawa islands, Amami islands,
and south of Tokara Islands. It lives widely in the mountains on
the flat ground. It is seen in the forest, fields, and grasslands.
Food is frogs, earthworms, etc. |
