The Lily Field Park with a land area of 8300 square meters is located along the seashore of a rocky stretch on the northeastern part of the island. Over 1 million teppoyuri (Easter lilies), which are also the island's symbol, are planted in the site and bloom from mid-April toward the end of Golden Week (national holiday in May). The Yuri Matsuri (Lily Festival) is held on the last weekend of April when the flowers are in full bloom, and during this time, the park is crowded with tourists. |
