Iejima chasenshida is a fern of the Aspleniaceae species and an indigenous plant of Ie Island. It is also a variant of Asplenium oligophlebium Baker (kamigamoshida in Japanese) distributed over Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Amami-ooshima, Tokunoshima, and the Okinawa Island. Its rootstalk stands upright and its leafstalks, glossy and brown, spread out several leaves. The average height is about 10cm, the base of the leaflet is auricular, and a single spore case is found between each rachis and leaf. This fern is valued since it only grows on limited areas.
