| It is said that the beginning of Okinawan glass crafts was around the mid- Meiji period and it has a history of about 100 years. The present style of Ryukyu glass was created from raw materials of empty and beer bottles that were discarded from U. S. military bases. Mr. Tobaru, Mr. Oshiro and Mr. Inamine have endeavored to develop Ryukyu Glass for approximately half a century after the war and were chosen as master craftsmens of the present age. Let us introduce the magic of Ryukyu glass through each person's world of glass. |
