1928 Graduated Naha Elementary School and
worked at grocery stores
1930 Served at Naha Construction Office, Okinawa Prefectural Offices. Quit after being injured during a shark attack. Started helping with his father's work.
1938 Studied Makie lacquer technique in Kainan, Wakayama.

Entered "Bembo," Okinawa Lacquerware Craftsman Cooperative
Incapable of continuing lacquerware production due to war situation, quit Bembo and started working at post office
1944 Evacuated to Oita Prefecture
1945-53
After the war, returned to Okinawa and served on the U.S. military base
1953 Re-entered Bembo Co., Ltd., becoming Makie and Hakue artisan
