Reproduction was done according to ancient writings. In the writings, an Uchui was depicted in red Urushi lacquer using the Chinkin technique and portrayed legendary Chinese animals -- the giraffe and dragon -- and jewels. The flooring of the king's throne was made by braiding cotton threads dyed with Ryukyuan indigo plant.
