The restored Uzagaku performance

This is an indoor music that corresponds to Japanese court music and is played in castles during celebrations, in Ukansen festivities, and during Edo pilgrimages as opposed to the Rojigaku. As with Rojigaku, this was originally transmitted from China. It was developed as entertainment for the Sapposhi. However, it wasn't seen that often and although it was performed only once in 1887, after the dynasty collapsed, it was performed by interested people from the Uzagaku Preservation Committee at Higashimachi Hall in 2001.
