The monument for praising the achievements of Chokun Tamagusuku, who was appointed "Odoribugyo" to welcome the first Sappo in 1719.

Although Akainko is referred to as the precursor of song and Sanshin, it is generally considered that Tansui Uekata (1623-1683) was the founder of classical Sanshin music. Uta Sanshin was one of the things that a member of the samurai class had to know during the dynasty times. While being protected in the royal government, it developed through joining with the performing arts to welcome Chinese envoys and the programs performed during Edo pilgrimages.
After the fall of the Ryukyu dynasty, Sanshin music spread through the common people and many became Sanshin enthusiasts. It joined with plays and operas to spawn songs with a life of their own, and considerate people interested in preserving classical songs appeared
