Visual direction is an important element that supports Kumiodori. It is also in the criteria for designation as a "National Important Intangible Cultural Asset," which requires a stylized set of costumes and props. Of course Kumiodori itself is stylized, but not as strict as Noh and Kabuki, and when observed historically, portions were changed depending on the stage director and attempts to simplify recent performances were also made, which shows that an ideal style for the gentle form of beauty that was also adaptable to trends of the times was sought.
