In the very old times of Eisa, it was performed as Buddhist dances, supposedly characterized by slow tempo music. While Eisa ceased momentously after World War II, it was revived with the help of the Chatan Youth Association in 1990.
With approximately 30 members today, it was invited in 1995 and 1996 to perform at the Kumamoto Prefecture Land of Fire Festival, where it was highly appraised.
