Samurai Dramas

Description
After the Meiji Restoration, former performers of Ukansen Geino created many dramas while participating in the modern theatrical movement. Those dramas were generally classified in two types: jidaigeki(a period drama) and contemporary drama. Ryuku jidaigeki; mainly employed themes like historical facts, fables or legends of Okinawa, became popular from the Taisho period. In the drama, you can see lifestyle, customs and language of the old time.
