Description
A drama composed of Okinawan traditional music and dances. In the drama, a mixture of local old folk songs, omoro-go (ancient Okinawan dialect), and the standard Japanese is delivered together with a music scale of Hachi-hachi-cho. Among the masterpieces produced during the reign of the Ryukyuan Dynasty to entertain Sappo-shi (messengers from China), a series of scripts called Itsukumi or Goban (five stories) created by Chokun Tamagusuku is highly rated as one of standard kumiudui today.
