A Rock To Find the Husband

The outline of the story

Tara, a son of the richest family in the village, is a kind boy. The most beautiful girl in the village is to be married as her parents have told her to. But Tara has a big scar on his head. Since Usagwa detests it, she does not go to bed with him. Their parents take them onto a rock off shore to play on. Their parents leave the boy and girl on the rock saying that they have to return to take something. Soon, it gets dark and cold on the small island in the sea. Tara who sees Usagwa with her thin kimono(clothes) trembling with the cold, dresses her in his tanazen(overcoat). Spending a night with Tara on the rock, Usagwa is touched with his kindness. In the end they become real man and wife.
