Passai (sho) This is also called Itosu no Passai. It is an old type of kata that is representative of Shorin-ryu. There is alternate use of defensive and offensive actions, and the kata is said to include most of the basic techniques of Shorin-ryu. Response and motion skilfully cross and the start of action is very powerful. The protean actions weaving the 'responses and motions' are full of dynamism.
