| This set of weapons consists of a rochin (shield) and a Tinpe (short spear). The famous Okinawan book called Omorososhi, known as the Ryukyu version of the Manyo-shu, noted that this was already being used during the Sanzan (3 Kingdoms) period in Okinawa. A compact rochin is held in one hand and a Tinpe in the other to carry out simultaneous defense and offense. In the old days, the rochin was made of cowhide or to, a kind of cane that is similar to bamboo. The kata called Kanegawa no Tinpe remains today. | | | Tinpe & Rochin Kanegawa no Tinpe [ Demonstrator ]
