[Biographical outline]

Born in Nishihara Town. Became a pupil of Choshin Chibana (Shuri-te) in 1933. Appointed as President of the Okinawa Shorin-ryu Karate-do Association in 1969. Appointed as President of Okinawa-ken Karate-do Renmei in 1986.

[Martial Arts Career]

1933	Became pupil of Choshin Chibana
1948	Established Shido-kan Karate Dojo in Nishihara Town
1978	Hanshi 10th Dan
1981	Became Ikkyu (1st Grade) judge of Zen-Nihon Karate-do Renmei (All Japan Karate Federation)
1985	Participated in Japan-China International Martial Arts Enbu Tournament held in Fuzhou City, China
1988	Technical advisor to Zen-Nihon Karate-do Renmei

[Honors]

1974	Participated in the 1st World Karate Championship Tournament held in the Philippines. Received Medal of Merit.
1992	Received Medal of Merit for Martial Arts from Nippon Budo Kyogikai (Japanese Budo Association)
1995	Received Medal of Merit for Municipal Administration from Naha City
1998	Received Medal of Merit from the Ryukyu Shinpo
2000	Recognized as Intangible Cultural Asset holder in the Field of Okinawan Karate and Martial Arts with Weaponry by Okinawa Prefecture
