The “Tacchu” which rise up in the center of the Iejima Ilsand is a symbolic existence in the island, but there is “a trace of the Giant” at the top. Long ago, at Iejima Island, there is a legend that there lived a big man called the “Chikra Tan-naba”. According to the legend, it is said that Tannaba climed the Tacchu and raised a rock against the enemy which came to attack, and threw it at them, and dispersed the enemy at the time of fighting with a neighboring village. Then, it is handed down that this footprint was made at the place where he straddled.
