Beautiful Coastline of Chinen Village title_tabBeautiful Coastline of Chinen Village* Chinen Village* is located at the southeastern point of mainland Okinawa, and its horseshoe landform is called the Chinen Peninsula. The village is surrounded by sea, as Nakagusuku Bay looms wide from the northwest to the southwest of the village, and the Pacific Ocean on the southeast side. In the eastern offshore, there is a small village on Kudaka Island, known as the "island of the gods." Although it is the fourth smallest village in Okinawa, it has made the most of nature's offerings since the old days, as the villagers subsist on both agriculture and fishing.
