Earliest Cherry Blossoms in Japan
Yae Mountain in Motobu Town is the place to be if you want to witness cherry blossoms earlier than anywhere else in Japan. Taiwan cherrys begin to bloom at the peak, and by February the mountain is spotlessly painted in pink. Thousands visit Motobu around this season to participate in the "Yae Mountain Cherry Blossom Gazing Festival" and enjoy the earliest spring in Japan.
