Nago's Guardian Banyan Tree
Okinawans affectionately call the mountainous range of northern Okinawa "Yanbaru." Drive 45 minutes on the Okinawa Expressway from Naha, get off at the final exit and you will arrive in Nago City. A mountainous range stretches south to north and rivers run across the city. The city itself is part of the deep, green Yanbaru forest.
