Nakijin Village is located northeast of the Motobu Peninsula, in the northern region of mainland Okinawa. The Nakijin Castle ruins, (also known as Hokuzan Castle) located in this village, have been designated a National Cultural Heritage and a World Heritage. This was the residence of the king of the northern Hokuzan fief in the three kingdoms era about 600-700 years ago.
